Work With Us

At The Unruly Stitch we get a fair few queries about support and collaborations. Some of them are brilliant and exciting and make us very happy. Some of them – they’re not so good.

Let’s start with some of the things we say no to.

We won’t send you something for a raffle prize.

We won’t send you a giveaway for your blog readers or podcast listers.

We won’t send you something in return for a nice review.

We won’t send you a treat for your mum who is having a hard time right now.

As a business we choose to support The Trussell Trust and Stonewall. They’re two awesome charities that should have been obsolete long before now. Instead we need them more than ever. So we’d sooner support them as much as possible rather than fulfilling random requests.

We don’t teach or have the ability to offer any kind of apprenticeship.

So what are we up for?

If you need to borrow patches or bags (or other items) for styling for a photoshoot please contact us.

If you’ve got a brilliant idea and wonder if we could help make it, get in touch. We’ve made commissions for all sorts of patches We like a challenge, especially if you don’t need it yesterday. You'll need to own the rights to any art work you want us to use.

If there’s something awesome that you’re doing, and we make a thing that would make it even more awesome, get in touch and tell us all about it.

If you’re a textile student looking for embroidery to incorporate into your final collection, get in touch and let us know what you’re planning.

If you’d like to stock our products, have a look at our wholesale page.

We’re especially keen to provide support for people who feel marginalised. Exclusion happens for many reasons including colour, race, gender, sexuality, religion, age, ability, size and financial situation. We’d like to try and tip that balance a little.

Sometimes we need to say no. It doesn’t mean your idea isn’t wonderful or that we don’t think it will be a success. It doesn’t mean we never want to work with you. It just says that there’s a limit to what we can offer.

We plan to exhibit at a couple of shows during the year and often those are busy. We like to be able to focus our attention on customers and offer any help they need to choose their glass. This means that we don’t have time to consider proposals properly and give them the attention they deserve. It’s not the ideal place to have a discussion about support, so ask us at a show and we’ll say no (but buy us a coffee, leave us a card with your contact details and we’ll get in touch!)
